Drone-Free LAPD/No Drones, LA!: Public Survey
On May 29, 2014, the Los Angeles Police Department ("LAPD") received two drones from the Seattle Police Department ("SPD") because widespread opposition from Seattle residents forced SPD to discard them. Now, LAPD is seeking approval from the Board of Police Commissioners to use these drones for law enforcement activities in the City of Los Angeles. Many people and organizations have expressed serious concerns about the militarization of our police force and how these drones can be misused and abused by the police to invade our privacy and violate other constitutional rights. We are asking you to complete this survey because we want to document the views of our community members and present their views to our elected City officials and to the Board of Police Commissioners.
